“Asante Akim is one of the well known districts located in the eastern part of the Ashanti Region of Ghana; with a vast and rich history, the Asante people have a wide range of culinary dishes some of which we take pride in serving.”

Asante - Akim 's main mission as a restaurant for west African cuisine is to ensure that all our diners feel at home. Our menu consist of 80 percent west African dishes and 20 percent local dishes - this is to promote west African dishes and also reassure our local dinners that they can always have their own local dishes.

We have an array of dishes that our diners can choose from ranging from meaty meals to vegetarian options.

One of our popular dishes is Ox-tail stew served with pounded semi-ripe Plantain. The Ox-tail stew has dry chilli , dry Bay leaves, crushed garlic, crushed ginger, star anise, fresh tomatoes, fresh onion, tomato paste and some salt.

The image on the left depicts one of our national dishes Fufu, Fufu is one of the staple food' found in Ghana and most commonly eaten in the Ashanti region. We serve it with a variety of meats such as Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Fish and Goat. Fufu is served with light soup such as light palm nut soup, light peanut butter soup or light sea food soup.

For our vegetarian dishes, our most popular dish is boiled plantain with yam. These are both starches predominantly found and eaten in west Africa. We serve this dish with ground cocoyam leaves toped with fried onions and garlic in palm nut oil; sliced avocado and an egg is added to the meal.
